Lay-off and Strike Preparation
CSA helps workers facing lay-off with job search assistance, filing for unemployment compensation, resume writing and interview skills. CSA also provides support to workers on strike including food and financial assistance to help keep them afloat until they return to work.
Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF)
CSA provides approximately $120,000 annually and assists more than 350 union families with emergency financial needs, helping to prevent utility cut-offs, evictions and foreclosures, and help for needed prescriptions, transportation, food, child care and other support. The EAF is open to qualified union members whose locals contribute annually to the program.
Union Volunteer Recruitment
In partnership with the area's 180 local unions, CSA works to recruit union volunteers for community projects. Annually, we generate over 300 union volunteers who participate in helping to strengthen our communities in a variety of ways.
